21 Nov 2013
Guangzhou, China: The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organising Committee (IAGOC) held the last of the 2014 Asian Games PR roadshows in Guangzhou, China, on Thursday, November 21.  Similar to the Hanoi roadshow in October, the Guangzhou event consisted of a press conference in the morning and a JYJ showcase in the evening.

The press conference was attended by JYJ, Goodwill Ambassadors of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games; Mr. Song Young-gil, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City; Mr. Kim Young-soo, President of IAGOC; and over 100 persons, including government officials, sports officials, and diplomatic corps of Korea and China, and members of the media.

Mayor Song said: “It is very special to hold this roadshow in Guangzhou, the host city of the 16th Asian Games. We in Incheon will do our utmost to make the 17th Asian Games in our city a festival of peace and harmony for all Asians.”

The showcase at the Guangzhou Gymnasium featured JYJ, the K-Pop superstars, who performed their Incheon Asiad song, “Only One”, with 7,000 fans in the audience.  The show also included Poppin’ Hyun Joon, the famous Korean b-boy; Park Ae-ri, the Korean Pansori singer; and Miso, the Korean traditional dance troupe.

JYJ remarked: “We are truly thankful for all the interest and enthusiasm from our Chinese fans for the Incheon Asian Games and our song ‘Only One’. We are glad that this showcase has given a chance for us and our Chinese fans to share and enjoy this occasion together.

“We are honoured to be the Goodwill Ambassadors of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, and we will play our part to contribute to the success of the Games next year.”

The 2014 Asian Games Overseas PR Roadshows have been held in five cities all over Asia since May, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Dubai, the UAE; Singapore; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Guangzhou, China.
