Afghan sports journalists honour minister Naderi

Kabul, Afghanistan, January 18, 2017: The Executive Committee of the Afghanistan Sports Journalists’ Federation (ASJF) presented cricket pioneer Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, with the AIPS Shield for his contribution to the development of sport in the country.

Mr Naderi is an active member of the Afghanistan Cricket Board and has been doing his best to improve the level of cricket in the country for the past two years.

ASJF President Sayer Zaland thanked the minister for the opportunity to discuss the future of sport in the country during the meeting, which was attended by a number of ministry directors and deputy ministers.

The ASJF President said the sports journalists were fully committed to working with him to develop Afghan sport in the future. Mr Naderi thanked the ASJF, which is affiliated to the International Sports Press Association, and said that, as the only recognised sports journalists association in Afghanistan, it had the full support of the ministry.
