Bahrain NOC hosts international visitors

Manama, Bahrain: The Bahrain Olympic Committee organised an official lunch for a group of invitees from all over the world visiting Bahrain to discover different aspects of the nation. The delegation was in Bahrain for one week at the invitation of the Good Word Society as part of the Discover Bahrain Exchange Programme, aimed at expanding the knowledge of the international community about Bahrain.

Participants came from the US, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Portugal, Costa Rica, Argentina, Peru, Guatemala, Algeria, South Africa, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China.

The trip and outings focused on showcasing the people and culture of Bahrain and highlighted Bahrain’s rich history and modern society. The BOC took the opportunity to welcome the guests and highlight the Olympic movement in the Kingdom and its achievements. Held at the Royal Golf Club, the ceremony started with a speech by Ahmed Al Qarainees from the BOC International Affairs, highlighting the sports movement in Bahrain.

He referred to some of the programmes conducted by the BOC on a regular basis as well as the sports facilities and major sporting events that Bahrain has hosted in recent years, the most recent being the  21st Gulf Cup football tournament held last month. The visit ended on Saturday.
