OCA DG welcomes 9th GCC & Yemen RADO meeting

10 May 2011
Kuwait: OCA Director General Husain Al-Musallam welcomed the 9th GCC & Yemen RADO board meeting held Tuesday in Kuwait and promised that the OCA would do its upmost to fight doping. “Welcome all my dear friends to Kuwait for the 9th GCC & Yemen RADO Board Meeting,” the OCA Director General said in his welcome speech.

“OCA always supports the fight against doping and all the anti-doping measures in our Asian continent.  We have only one goal - that our Asian athletes can participate in the Olympic Games and all other international sports event clean and achieve good results.

“This isn’t an easy target without good cooperation and hard work from all of you. The Olympic Council of Asia has been working closely with our NOCs since 1999 to fight against doping. We also work closely with WADA’s Tokyo Office and different Asian sports federations.

“All GCC countries have established RADO with its own regulations following WADA guidelines. By November 2011 all countries must comply with the WADA Anti-Doping Code. I wish, with all your support and cooperation, Yemen could catch up with the pace and participate in the 2012 London Olympic Games.”

OCA has been the pioneer in the fight against doping among the IOC’s five continents. Asia has already established five Asia RADO offices from the total of 15 worldwide. The five offices are located in Maldives (South Asia), Singapore (South East Asia), Jordan (West Asia), Kuwait (GCCY) and Uzbekistan (Central Asia).
