AIMAG celebrations, Fitness First sponsorship in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, China, October 17, 2017: A Welcome Home reception and awards presentation for the Hong Kong, China delegation to the OCA’s 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, last month was held on Tuesday, October 17 by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China.

The delegation returned from the 5th AIMAG with 35 medals comprised of 10 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze from seven sports to rank 10th in the medal tally. The AIMAG was held from September 17-27 with 65 teams: 45 from OCA, 19 from Oceania and an Athlete Refugee Team.

At the same reception it was announced that Fitness First, one of the largest fitness club networks in Asia, will be the Exclusive Official Fitness Partner of SF&OC for the next three years, offering HK$1 million in international memberships to support the training programme of the athletes.

Hong Kong NOC President Timothy Fok said: “The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China ensures that every partner of our Federation will provide our athletes with the most high-quality support necessary in their training programme.

“Thanks to its supreme network and experience, Fitness First provides comprehensive fitness advice and programmes for athletes to improve their overall fitness and thus enhance their performances in international competitions. We are confident that this partnership is a most valuable asset to our athletes.”

VIPs attending the reception included Mr. Timothy Fok, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China; Ms. Vivien Lau, Chef de Mission; Mr. Herman Hu, Deputy Chef de Mission; Mr. Ronnie Wong, Hon. Secretary General of the SF&OC; Mr. Yeung Tak-keung, Commissioner for Sports, Home Affairs Bureau; and Mr. Richard Wong, Assistant Director (Leisure Services) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
