Skating development in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: An Olympic Solidarity programme under the development of national sports structure (DNSS) in speed skating was organised by Mongolia NOC in kind cooperation with  the Mongolian Skating Union (MSU). The course was officially launched in Ulaanbaatar and conducted by the ISU expert from Korea, Hae-Gang Pyun. A total of 45 local coaches, teachers and athletes took part.

Dr. D. Zagdsuren, NOC President, Mr. Ch. Dagvasuren, MSU Secretary-General, and other guests attended the opening ceremony at Olympic House.

Mongolian skaters took part at eight Winter Olympics between Innsbruck 1964 and Salt Lake City 2002.

Mr. Hae-Gang Pyun, 67,  is a well-known coach for the Korean national skating team and his athletes captured  several medals at Olympic and Asian Games.
