The farewell dinner on Friday
Incheon AIMAG displayed 'fresh and unique' atmosphere

05 Jul 2013
Incheon, Korea: The President of the organising committee of the 4th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Mr Kim Young Soo, hosted the official farewell dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Friday evening, one day ahead of the July 6 closing ceremony.

Describing the atmosphere of the Games as "fresh and unique", President Kim said the organising committee had worked hard to reflect the distinctive features of each sport in the AIMAG, which combined the Asian Indoor Games and Asian Martial Arts Games for the first time in one multi-sport event.

He said the participation of 44 of the 45 NOCs affiliated to the OCA had contributed to the harmony and unity of Asia.

"This has been a valuable experience for all of us in the build-up to the 17th Asian Games in Incheon in 2014," he said. "We faced some unexpected problems to resolve along the way and we will improve these imperfections and upgrade our services for the 2014 Asian Games.

"I hope the 4th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Incheon 2013, will last long in your heart and memory, and I look forward to seeing all of you in Incheon next year."

Mr Wei Jizhong, Honorary Life Vice President of the OCA, responded on behalf of the OCA, toasting the success of the 4th AIMAG as well as the anticipated success of the 17th Asian Games next year and the fifth AIMAG in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, in 2017.
