Hangzhou, China, November 25, 2019: The organising committee for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2022 (HAGOC) held a meeting with French events management company GL events to discuss joint cooperation for the next Asian Games.
The two main participants in the preliminary discussions were Chen Weiqiang, Deputy Secretary General of HAGOC and Vice Mayor of Hangzhou, and Olivier Ginon, Founder and Chairman of the Board at GL events.
Vice Mayor Chen welcomed Mr Ginon and his party and stressed that this year marked the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and that the friendship between the two countries had a long and fruitful history.
Focusing closely on hosting a “green, smart, economical and ethical” Asian Games, HAGOC is now promoting preparations for the Asian Games which will also drive urban development.
HAGOC strives to make Hangzhou 2022 a premier sports and cultural gala characterised by “Chinese grandeur, Zhejiang style, Hangzhou flavour and Shared by All”.
Vice Mayor Chen acknowledged the achievements of GL events in serving large-scale sporting events and said he hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen communication and together push the preparations for Hangzhou 2022 forward.
