Date : 25 Nov 2019

Tarlac, Philippines, November 25, 2019: Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao surprised SEA Games athletes from home and overseas by paying a visit to the New Clark City over the weekend. The Filipino hero and Senator gave the athletes a moment to treasure by appearing at a training session in the new sports complex, 100km north of the capital Manila.

The comments of the athletes were “great food, great stay” according to a Facebook post by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority which is handling the new project.

“The world’s boxing champ also saw for the first time the world-class Athletics Stadium and Aquatics Center, facilities to be used in the 30th South East Asian Games,” said the post.

The 30th SEA Games will run from November 30 to December 11 with 56 sports. The main hub is at the New Clark City but competitions will also be held at Subic Bay, Metro Manila and other locations.

The athletes and officials from Indonesia and Malaysia as well as local athletes made the most of this once in a lifetime opportunity to take a photo with the boxing great.
