Male, Maldives, August 19, 2019: Hassan Mohamed Didi, a junior level coach from the Maldives Basketball Association, has been granted an Olympic Solidarity Coaches Scholarship to attend the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Programme in the United States.
The programme, which is composed of four modules over an academic year, 2019-2020, will include lectures, projects, guest speakers, students’ presentations, group work, field trips and project management. It is organised by the United States Olympic Committee in cooperation with University of Delaware and Olympic Solidarity.
Hassan is also an active basketball player who has competed at various national and international competitions since 2011. After completing the FIBA Asia Coaching Level One course in 2013 he entered the field of coaching and has used his experience to coach junior players.
This scholarship will give Hassan a great opportunity to develop a personal project to implement in Maldives. The programme focuses on training participants on talent identification and training and emphasises the multiplier effects needed for further growth of the sport in the home country.
The Maldives Olympic Committee congratulates Hassan on being selected for the programme.
