Four young reporters from Asia to learn the ropes at Buenos Aires YOG

Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 1, 2018: Four young reporters will represent Asia in the International Olympic Committee’s Young Reporters programme during the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires from October 6-18.

Annesha Ghosh (India, female), Faten Al-Magdhob (Yemen, female), Amarjargal Altankhuyag (Mongolia, male) and Kandula Yatawara (Sri Lanka, male) will join other Young Reporters from the Americas, Oceania, Europe and Africa as well as host nation Argentina.

In addition, Young Reporters representing the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022, six young photographers and two wild card nominations will also take part in the two-week long programme. In total 34 Young Reporters, all aged between 18 and 24 and working in or studying journalism will be involved.

The Young Reporters will receive intensive class and field training in written, photographic, television, radio and social media sports blogging. They will be gaining insights and training from leading journalists and specialists, as well as conducting interviews with athletes, Olympic officials and the sporting community that supports the Youth Olympic Games.

The programme will include a behind-the-scenes tour of the International Broadcast Centre and meeting with Olympic Channel programmers and reporters, who will also be reporting from Buenos Aires.

This is the third cycle of the IOC Young Reporters programme following the Youth Olympic Games in 2010 Singapore and 2014 Nanjing.
