Hangzhou, China, May 20, 2019: The first set of specially designed commemorative stamps for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2022 was issued on Saturday, May 18 in a ceremony at Yongjin Park by the famous West Lake.
The set consists of a stamp and a stamp sheet. The emblem of the Hangzhou Asian Games was used as the main picture while the main sports stadium of the Hangzhou Asian Games, with modern architecture along the Qiantang River in blue and green, was used in the attached map. This colour theme depicts the green hills, clean waters and dynamic capital city of Zhejiang province.
It was the first time a set of specially designed stamps had been issued nationwide using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. People wanting to buy the stamps need only use Alipay to scan the stamp, and the virtual scene and real scene shot with cellphones will be combined through AR technology to "bring the picture alive" in three dimension.
In the next few years, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee and China Post will join forces to issue a series of commemorative stamps and philatelic items.
The main content will represent the themes of the Hangzhou Asian Games, such as the mascot and stadiums, in supporting Hangzhou to host this great sports event in September 2022.
