Hangzhou, China, May 3, 2019: The organising committee of the Olympic Council of Asia’s 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2022 held a signing ceremony with Chinese automaker Geely Holding Group.
The Geely Holding Group, from Zhejiang province in east China, has signed up as the official automobile services partner for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
Geely, which owns Volvo and a stake in Daimler, has been at the forefront of the Chinese auto industry's digitalisation efforts and connectivity drives.
With "smart" being one of the keywords of the 2022 Asian Games, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (HAGOC) hopes to present the world with a smart Asian Games by leveraging the technology advantages of the city, according to Chen Weiqiang, Vice Mayor of Hangzhou.
An Conghui, President and CEO of Geely, said that the company would continue to improve the intelligent mobility experience for users with innovative technologies amid efforts to contribute to the smart transportation solutions for the Asian Games 2022.
He added that, as the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 marked a great opportunity to showcase China's strength to the world, the partnership opened a new chapter in cooperation between Geely and HAGOC.
Over 300 media outlets from home and abroad witnessed the signing ceremony, which was held on April 13.
Since the launch of the marketing programme for the 19th Asian Games on December 26, 2018 the organising committee has secured partners in six areas - information technology and cloud services, financial technology services, communication services, banking services, air services and auto services.
