Muscat, Oman, April 2, 2019: The Oman Olympic Committee will host a meeting of all the Presidents of the Gulf Cooperation Council National Olympic Committees from April 7-9 in Muscat.
The meeting of the sports leaders from the region will take up a number of topics, among them the implementation of the resolution taken at the GCC
Supreme Council Summit held in Riyadh in 2015 relating to the vision of the King of Saudi Arabia regarding volunteering work.
Other items to be reviewed during the three-day meeting will include school sport, physical illiteracy eradication, the joint strategy of sports work, the possibility of staging a regional league for elite clubs in a number of sports and international cooperation.
The heads of the National Olympic Committees of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates will also look at granting awards for persons who have excelled in sports and environment, as well as for persons who have distinguished themselves in the organisation of events.
