Kathmandu, Nepal, July 22, 2019: Delegates from Tokushima Prefectural Government visited Nepal to finalise the training programme for Nepali athletes in Tokushima ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The visiting delegates were the Chief of the International Sports and Exchange Office, Mr. Takahito Akiyama, and Mr Yohei Minato, Senior Staff Member of the International Sports and Exchange Office.
The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee and Member of Parliament Jeevan Ram Shrestha met with the Japanese delegates and confirmed that five participants in archery and five participants in swimming, comprised of four athletes and one coach, would train for one month in Tokushima in the build-up to the Olympics.
President Shrestha thanked the Tokushima Prefectural Government for their generous support and said that the relationship between Nepal and Japan would only grow stronger in the future.
The delegates also visited the swimming and archery training camps and talked to the coaches for their specific requirements.
