Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 18, 2019: A delegation from the Asian Kabaddi Federation, headed by Secretary General Mr. Muhammad Sarwar Rana, made a courtesy visit to the Olympic Council of Malaysia on Tuesday, July 16.
Mr. Sarwar Rana was accompanied by Mr. Prasad Rao, Technical Director of AKF and IKF; Mr. Sathasivam Munusamy, President of the Kabaddi Association of Malaysia (KAM); Mr. Ashokan Munusamy, Deputy President of KAM; Mr. Thinakaran Shanmugam, Secretary General of KAM; and Mr. Purushothman Palany, Executive Secretary of KAM.
They were welcomed by Ms. Moira Tan Siew See, Assistant Secretary General of OCM, and Mr. Fong Wan Hor, General Manager of OCM.
Prior to the courtesy visit to the OCM, the AKF delegation had meetings with the National Sports Council and the Sports Commissioner’s Office to reaffirm the status of the KAM as the governing body for the sport of kabaddi in Malaysia.
The KAM has been affiliated to the OCM since 2001 and has participated in numerous multi-sport games under the OCM such as four Asian Games, two Asian Indoor Games and two Asian Beach Games.
The OCM is supporting the efforts of KAM to promote and develop the sport of Kabaddi in Malaysia.
