Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, May 21, 2019: Battushig Batbold, First Vice President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, has been reappointed as a member of the International Olympic Committee Marketing Commission.
The IOC last week announced the composition of its 27 commissions for 2019 and has once again included Battushig, Chef de Mission of Team Mongolia for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, in its important Marketing Commission.
Among the responsibilities of the Marketing Commission are to review and study possible sources of financing and revenue for the IOC and the Olympic Movement while ensuring that control of sport remains with sports authorities. The commission also monitors the implementation of the IOC’s marketing and related programmes.
Battushig, who is a graduate of Harvard Business School, received the Leading Entrepreneur Award from Forbes Mongolia earlier this month. He was elected President of the Mongolian Badminton Association in 2015 and is also a council member of the Badminton World Federation.
