Macau, China NOC holds General Assembly

Macau, China, March 15, 2019: The Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China held their General Assembly at Macau Tower on the evening of Friday, March 15, 2019.

After unanimously passing all the reports on finances, events and activities, the Executive Board members and representatives of 47 national sport federations joined a banquet dinner to celebrate a successful year.

Macau won one gold medal, two silver and two bronze at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia and finished 26th of the 45 competing National Olympic Committees.

“We want to congratulate our athletes on a successful Asian Games and in other major sports events, too,” said Mr Charles Lo, President of Macau NOC and newly re-elected Chairman of the Olympic Council of Asia Media Committee.

“This success is a result of strong team work between the Olympic Committee, the Macau Sports Bureau and our national sports federations. We can look forward to further success in the future if we remain united in our work and in our goals.”

Macau took 110 athletes in 16 sports and 56 officials to the OCA’s 18th Asian Games and won a gold medal in wushu, silver medals in wushu and karate and bronze medals in karate and women’s triathlon.
