Beijing, China, July 17, 2017: The Bank of China has become the first Official Partner of the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Cai Qi, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and President of Beijing 2022, Chen Ji’ning, Acting Mayor of Beijing and Executive President of Beijing 2022, Zhang Haidi, Chair of the China Disabled People’s Federation and Executive President of Beijing 2022, and Tian Guoli, Chairman of the BOC Board of Directors, attended the signing ceremony in the BOC headquarters in Beijing on July 13.

The document was signed by Zhang Jiandong, Vice Mayor of Beijing and Vice Executive President of Beijing 2022, and Chen Siqing, Governor of the BOC. “Beijing 2022 will be a milestone event in China’s history, and is of far-reaching significance to exhibiting China’s image, promoting the country’s development and upgrading the national spirit,” said Mayor Chen.

Since the marketing programme was launched in February, Beijing 2022 has been seeking an official banking partner based upon openness, fairness and justness, Chen added.

The BOC is the only bank in China that has operated for over a century. With branches covering China’s mainland and 51 countries and regions, it has the most extensive global presence among all the Chinese banks. The BOC was the Official Partner for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
