Malaysia NOC focuses on fitness

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: The Olympic Council of Malaysia reports that the 3rd “Exercise is Medicine - Physicians and Fitness Trainers Course” was held on Sunday, June 15, at Wisma OCM, Kuala Lumpur. A total of 34 physicians and 14 professional fitness trainers attended the course. The course featured four lecturers and ran from 7.45 am to 6.45 pm. It included 90 minutes of practical session at the I Move Fitness Centre on Level 4 of Wisma OCM and another hour for a written test.

In other news from Malaysia:

• Sportsboleh Sdn Bhd organised the “Kick Start” launch of its new light resistance training product called EXOGEN on June 14 at Wisma OCM. EXOGEN is already being used by Malaysian national athletes such as Lee Chong Wei, Nicol David, Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Peter Davis. The product comprises a training suit with light metallic weights (in grams) which can be attached to any part of an athlete’s body to provide increased resistance when the athlete executes his/her sports movements. This enables the athlete to concentrate on specific muscles they wish to strengthen.

• The office bearers and members of the Olympic Council of Malaysia wish to congratulate Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh on being conferred the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM), which carries the title Tan Sri, on the occasion of SPB Yang Di Pertuan Agong’s birthday celebration on Saturday, June 7. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh is the former President of the Badminton Association of Malaysia and current President of the Badminton Asia Federation.
