Chinese Taipei NOC signs two new cooperation agreements

29 Aug 2017
Taipei, August 29, 2017: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) signed Bilateral Cooperation Agreements with the Marshall Islands National Olympic Committee (MINOC) and Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) on Sunday, August 20.

CTOC President Mr Hong-Dow Lin, MINOC President Mr Kenneth Kramer and PNOC President Mr Frank Kyota signed the agreements on behalf of their respective organisations to facilitate sports exchange between the three countries.

Since 1979, the CTOC has inked sports exchange agreements with 32 NOCs on five continents, including the latest two additions.

Over the years, the CTOC has conducted several training camps for athletes from Marshall Islands, resulting in a major performance boost in specific sports. Moreover, Taiwan and Palau have had cooperative projects in many domains. It is expected that the close relations between the two NOCs will be taken to new heights.

The agreement encourages cooperation in areas including sports exchange, staff exchange, medical science, anti-doping, National Olympic Academies and many more.

On the occasion of the 29th Summer Universiade, which is being held in Taipei city from August 19-30, the CTOC received 28 distinguished guests from 10 NOCs and International World Games Association (IWGA) participating in the opening ceremony, as the CTOC strives to project the games further onto the international stage.
