Bahrain NOC promotes anti-doping activities

Manama, Bahrain: The Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Anti-Doping Section set up a promotional corner during the Charity Walk held at Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Park in Al Hidd.
Anti-Doping Section head Dr Hussain Al Haddad said the activity was part of the strategy to educate athletes and the public on the dangers of drugs, and had attracted a large number of visitors.
The Charity Walk, organised by the BOC and British Embassy, marked the first anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

*The Bahrain Olympic Committee has honoured the organising committee of the GCC Women’s Games held last March.
BOC board member and Games Executive Committee Chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa presented awards to members of the working committees during a special function at the BOC premises in Seef District.
Shaikha Hayat thanked Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, for his patronage of the Games and for attending the events, which had contributed to its success.
*The first of three five-day modules of the Sports Organisations Management Programme, organised by Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section, got underway with 31 representatives from different sports organisations from Bahrain and abroad.
This module, which concludes on October 10, is being supervised by a professional team from the World Academy of Sport, namely Chris Solly, Michael Cary and Gordon Mandry. The participants will take a final examination at the end of the course.
