OCA Award of
Merit

During the
recently concluded 24th OCA General Assembly held in
Guangzhou on 9th of September 2005, President OCA presented
the “OCA Award of Merit” to:



Raja Randhir
Singh, Secretary General Olympic Council of Asia and Indian
Olympic Association and also an IOC Member, for his
outstanding contribution to Asian sports and in particular
for successful staging of the Ist ever Afro-Asian Games in
Hyderabad in 2003. Raja Randhir Singh is the Secretary
General of the OCA since 1991 and is also the Vice Chairman
of the Commonwealth Games Federation. He was an active
athlete and participated in 5 consecutive Olympic Games. He
also won a gold medal at the 1978 Bangkok Asian Games.


Mr. Hemasiri
Fernando, President of the NOC of Sri Lanka and Chairman of
the OCA Cultural and Education Committee for his outstanding
contribution to Sri Lankan Sports and his outstanding
Contribution to the conduct of the SAF Games in Colombo, Sri
Lanka.
Mr. Fernando
was a National Champion in the shooting and participated in
the Asian Games.
